Is a Croatia holiday perfect for Prince William and Kate Middleton's honeymoon?
21 March 2011The prospect of Prince William and Kate Middleton booking a holiday in Croatia for their upcoming honeymoon has been raised by one newspaper.
According to the Daily Mail, the island of Rab is perfect for the type of break the young royal and his wife-to-be are said to be looking for.
It noted the couple are on the lookout for an "austerity honeymoon" and the Isles of Scilly have been mentioned as a possible option.
Even if this proves to be the case, the publication suggested a stay in accommodation in Croatia would be ideal for a first anniversary getaway.
Rab is a beautiful destination with access to the turquoise waters of the Adriatic and history on tap, particularly in the form of the hotel where Edward VIII once enjoyed a stay.
The island is located off the northern coast of Croatia, approximately halfway between Zadar and Rijeka and just south of the resort of Krk.
