Istria region of Croatia "is a perfect place for a holiday"
13 July 2010The rural delights of the Istria region in northern Croatia make for the "perfect place for a holiday", in the view of one expert.
Travel writer Vikas Vij, author of a piece for suite101.com, says the peninsula of Istria has a range of features that may appeal to tourists.
For example, the area is said to be blessed with a warm and sunny climate that could create ideal sunbathing opportunities.
It also offers peace and tranquility away from the hectic pace of inner-city life, as well as a plethora of top sports facilities and traditional cuisine, the writer details.
The peninsula of Istria is located close to a number of quaint and historic towns and is by the Adriatic Sea, arguably one of Europe's most beautiful waters.
Indeed, earlier this week the Dubrovnik Tourist Board suggested the Adriatic is the bluest part of the world when it is seen from space, perhaps highlighting the sea's cleanliness.
