Istrian beach is "cult destination" for Croatia travellers
14 May 2010A beach in the Istrian region of Croatia has been described as a "cult destination" for people who take a holiday in the Balkan country.
Cape Kamenjak, lying approximately nine miles south of Pula, is a natural paradise that remains totally unspoilt by development.
At the rear of the beach stand heath plants and the area is dissected by a series of muddy tracks, explains Jon Bousfield, writing for the Daily Telegraph.
And on the eastern side of the 2.5-mile stretch of shoreline are a number of secluded bathing spots, nestled alongside a belt of pine forest.
The area is ideal for anybody attracted to a "rugged end-of-the-world mystique", explains the author.
But it is not only those in search of solitude and isolation that head to Cape Kamenjak, as it is also popular with daredevils, such as cliff jumpers who leap from peaks up to 70ft high.
Many of those planning to take on board the words of Mr Bousfield and head to the beach this summer may wish to secure a Croatian villa in the area.
