Istrian beach 'is one of the best'
13 May 2010Travellers searching for a picture-postcard destination for their summer holiday should consider Croatia.
According to Jon Bousfield, writing for the Telegraph, Rovinj is one of the country's best beach locations.
The town, set in the heart of the Istrian region in the north of Croatia, features a series of bays and shingle coves interspersed with rocks and cliffs.
But fun in Rovinj is not confined to the shoreline, as it is also the location for a historic and entertaining town.
"Wherever you choose to sprawl, you'll get a good view of Rovinj's picture-postcard skyline in the distance," explains the writer.
One spot in particular that tourists should head to is Lone Bay, which culminates with a row of vertical cliffs.
The Istrian region is well served with flights, with the most ideal airports to land at including Rijeka and Zadar.
