Join Women's Day celebrations by travelling to Dubrovnik
22 February 2011People who would like to celebrate the upcoming International Women's Day have been invited to travel to Dubrovnik for one of the best parties around.
The Dubrovnik Tourist Board says the city congratulates all females and would like them to recognise their achievements in the ancient city in southern Croatia.
Women's Day was set up in 1911 to mark the efforts of ladies around the world who fought for equal rights in social, economic and political spheres.
It is now celebrated annually on March 8th and this year will be no different.
The organisation suggests people travel to Dubrovnik and enjoy a well-deserved rest, take in the sights, stroll along the beach and sit back with a cappuccino in one of the cafes on Stradun.
Alternatively, women might like to attend another event while they are in Croatia - and with the Dubrovnik Carnival coming to an end on March 6th, those who spend a few days in the country will have a chance to do so.
