Korcula - next big Croatian holiday-spot

With many Brits now heading to Croatia on holiday, some are looking for new places in the country to visit.

The Mirror has highlighted that one of those new spots, the island of Korcula, is the ideal holiday destination for a family.

Gill Murr told the newspaper she wanted somewhere in Croatia that was quiet and didn't want to stay in a large hotel - the mother of two added that Korcula offered exactly that.

Ms Murr's children managed to make friends while she was there, meaning she got plenty of time to relax on a sun lounger and get into a good book.

Korcula Old Town was noted as a brilliant place to visit and Ms Murr suggested it was "like a miniature Dubrovnik".

The island is situated off of the Dalmatian coast and runs parallel with the Croatian mainland.

It experiences Mediterranean-like weather with long, hot summers and mild winters, making it ideal for people looking to relax and catch some sun outside of the more traditional Croatian getaways.
