Last-minute Croatia holidays could still be on the agenda
03 September 2010Thousands of Brits may still be considering a holiday in Croatia, as one travel expert notes the popularity of last-minute bookings is likely to continue.
Bob Atkinson of travelsupermarket.com says the economic situation means people do not want to commit to a break and, in many cases, must wait to see if they can afford it.
In such instances, opting for a country like Croatia may be particularly shrewd, as it is located outside of the notoriously expensive eurozone.
Mr Atkinson's words follow research by Sainsbury's Credit Cards, which shows some 1.28 million British tourists waited until less than two weeks before departure before booking their holiday this year.
"Certainly the economic environment at the moment does allow for this situation and it is going to increase it until things start to settle a little bit more," the travel expert explains.
Booking at the last minute may open up the possibility of securing a bargain deal on a luxury Croatian villa.
