Library ship awaits those on Istria vacation
20 July 2009Holidaymakers taking an Istria vacation this summer could find their reading needs catered for as the annual appearance of Croatia's library ship is due to take place once again.
Each year, the vessel visits destinations along the Croatian coast, with the north-west port of Krk on the agenda for this summer, reports the Croatian Times.
Some 14 ports in all are due to receive a visit from the ship before it completes its third annual journey on July 31st.
Readers are given the chance to choose between 2,000 titles, many of which are in Croatian but some of which are in foreign languages.
Also due to be on board are 50 authors who are to speak to locals and those on an Istria vacation about their recent work.
The Croatian National Tourist Board recently reported another water-based sight that awaited those heading to Krk.
In 2009, the Fiumanka regatta marked its tenth anniversary on June 13th with a race from Rijeka Harbour across to Krk and back again.
