Lufthansa flights 'will connect travellers to Dubrovnik with rest of Europe'

Jet-setters could combine a visit to the ancient Croatian city of Dubrovnik with a look at Dusseldorf in Germany this summer, after new flights were announced.

Lufthansa - one of Europe's largest passenger carriers - is expanding its base in the German city by offering new routes to travellers.

One of those connects it with Dubrovnik, ideally located on the Adriatic coastline.

Return flights between the major travel hub and Croatia are expected to cost about £90 and will run twice a week.

Those wishing to spend several days of their summer break in a Croatian villa in or around Dubrovnik could use Lufthansa to visit any one of 58 destinations in Europe and North America.

Lufthansa states: "In the new timetable, we are offering our customers even more attractive destinations and non-stop connections."

Travelling in the Dubrovnik region is an "immense and rich experience", according to the city's official website.
