Majorette crews heading to Croatia
23 September 2009Majorette crews from all over Europe will head to Croatia next month to see if they can be crowned top group on the continent.
Running from October 2nd to 4th, the European Championships 2009 is set to be an exciting, baton-twirling event in Kastela, Split.
According to the Croatian Times, Frano Herendja, president of the Croatian Majorette Society, said: "I am particularly delighted that the championships will be taking place in Kastela."
He noted that majorettes from the area are among the "most-successful" in Croatia and have contributed to the increasing interest in the activity.
Troupes of majorettes from 11 countries will take part in the event, including those from the UK, France, Belgium, Croatia and Ireland.
Kastela is a beautiful area of Croatia and features a number of gardens that make it a great place to explore.
It is also the home of a marina and some wonderful historic architecture, making any visit there a truly unique experience.
