Marcos Baghdatis 'staying at accommodation in Croatia'

One of the world's top tennis stars is staying in accommodation in Croatia as he prepares for the upcoming events on the world tour.

Marcos Baghdatis is said to have set up camp in the town of Varazdin, located in the north-west of the country, reported the Croatian Times.

He is training on the courts of the Varteks tennis club, where his girlfriend is a regular attendee.

Karolina Sprem has also undergone numerous sessions at the facility, leading to Baghdatis joining her, the newspaper noted.

Cypriot Baghdatis is currently 25th on the ATP world rankings list and may be looking to move higher with major events such as the French Open and Wimbledon coming up.

Training in Croatia might also be a wise move as it can get players ready for the conditions likely to be experienced by those who play at the Croatia Open.

The tournament takes place between July 21st and 31st in the Istrian town of Umag.
