Mark Foster: Swimming holiday in Croatia would be phenomenal

Olympic swimmer and Strictly Come Dancing star Mark Foster says taking a holiday in Croatia to explore its islands would be highly enjoyable.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, he details one of his dream swimming holidays as being a trip to the country in order to navigate the Adriatic Sea.

Foster suggests visiting with five or six friends and "having a bit of a laugh" is an idea he likes the sound of.

"I think swimming around somewhere like Croatia would be absolutely amazing. A couple of kilometres between each island must be phenomenal," the Olympian tells the newspaper.

He adds the act of swimming outside is an "invigorating" one that sadly cannot be achieved in the UK.

Others may like to join Foster in booking accommodation in Croatia - perhaps on an island - and taking off into the sea.

The country is thought to boast approximately 1,200 islands, many of which remain uninhabited.
