May heralds start of overseas property buying season

May usually sees more people from Britain opting to purchase property overseas - and this year has apparently been no different.

Payment technology solutions firm Currencies Direct director of trading Mark O'Sullivan said that there are "so many bargains to be had".

With the Post Office reporting earlier this year that the Croatian kuna has been particularly popular with British people exchanging their pounds, many travellers could be tempted to buy in the Balkan nation.

Indeed, Mr O'Sullivan suggested that the rise in foreign property purchases comes after tourists have taken their Easter breaks.

"People go away over Easter, fall in love with somewhere and they try to buy," he explained.
