More Serbians opting for Croatia holiday

Tourist associations in Serbia are noticing a steep rise in the number of people taking holidays in Croatia.

The Istria and Kvarner regions, including the city of Rijeka, are said to be the favourite option among travellers from Croatia's Balkan neighbour, reports the Croatian Times.

However, there are also a significant number of travellers heading to the Dalmatian coast and, in particular, the islands of Hvar and Brac.

Advantages for Serbians looking to book accommodation in Croatia include easy access to the country and the use of a similar language, the newspaper explains.

Some may also be interested in the historic cities in the region, such as Split, while those who venture further south can explore Dubrovnik.

A highlight for tourists in Dubrovnik this month is sure to be the opening of a cable car that transports visitors to the top of Mount Srdj.
