Museum fans may enjoy January holiday in Dubrovnik
06 January 2011People who love to visit museums and take a look at fascinating historical objects may find this month is the time for them to take a holiday in Dubrovnik.
That is because the city is gearing up to host its popular Night of the Museums festival on January 28th, with exhibitions across the resort opening their doors free of charge.
The centrepiece of this year's event is Rector's Palace, while the Maritime Museum at Fort Revelin will also host various functions.
Visitors at Rector's Palace will be treated to a variety of activities, including an opening ceremony, lecture on Dubrovnik's bell tower and stories about the destination in centuries gone by.
Meanwhile, St John Fort is to hold a special session for youngsters to meet sea captains and an exhibition of the discoveries of archaeologist Ivan Rablijanin.
Dubrovnik is located on the southern tip of Croatia and can be accessed thanks to flights from the UK operated by easyJet, British Airways and Croatia Airlines.
