New director to 'improve' Zagreb airport
17 September 2009Zagreb airport has named a new director to replace current boss Bosko Matkovic.
According to the Croatian Times, the current director of Dubrovnik airport, Tonci Peovic, will be taking on the role.
Mr Peovic said that he would be making runway construction and terminal building renovation a priority when he is in charge.
Zagreb Airport, which is one of the most widely used in Croatia, flies to destinations all over Europe.
There are routes from various British airports, including Gatwick and London Luton, to the destination.
It also has direct flights to Dubrovnik for people who want to travel between the coast and the Croatian capital.
Dubrovnik has become increasingly popular as a destination for British tourists wanting to catch some sunshine.
Earlier this month, both bmibaby and flyglobespan announced they would be increasing flights to the coastal city from next summer, with holidaymakers from Scotland and the Midlands most likely to benefit.
