New ferry quay on Cres 'makes things easier for holidaymakers'
24 July 2009People considering a Croatian holiday this year, may be interested to learn that Cres has unveiled a new ferry quay.
The newly renovated quay in Porozina was revealed this week, after a 930,000 (£805,000) facelift, the Croatian Times reports.
While on holiday in Croatia, visitors to the area will benefit from increased ease of departure and arrival to the island, says Cres port head Andelko Petrinic.
Both the western and eastern docks have been extended as part of the renovation, as well as a revamp of the ferry entrance wharf. In addition, toilets have now been introduced for added convenience.
Every year, Porozina and fellow port Merga see 1.3 million passengers and 600,000 vehicles pass through.
Visitors to the second-largest island in the Adriatic may wish to visit the Vransko lake, or why not take a trip to nearby Kvarner Bay?
The bay offers a range of activities such as bike riding, swimming, climbing and sailing, as well as being rich in flora and fauna. People on a Croatian holiday in Cres can expect to see eagles, falcons and owls, among many other native birds.
