New garden may be worth visiting on Croatia holiday
01 September 2010Tourists planning to take a holiday in Croatia in the coming months may be pleasantly surprised by a proposed garden near Karlovac.
According to a report by Vecernji List, summarised by the Croatian Times, the town of Duga Resa is set to be the location for the significant project.
Included in the plans for the conversion of Dr Franjo Tudjman Park is the building of an amphitheatre, a pedestrian bridge across a river and a cultural centre.
The news source explains town bosses are to apply for funds from the European Union in order to help pay for the development.
It is thought the new park would become "one of the most beautiful urban surfaces in Croatia".
Those on holiday in the country may wish to add it to their itinerary when mapping out how they will spend their time.
Another destination worth visiting is Zadar, which was recently described by Anne Kapranos, writing for Scotland on Sunday, as having beautiful architecture.
