New mall to be built close to Split
30 April 2009The town of Imotski is to be the site of a major new shopping mall, news likely to be welcomed by residents and regular visitors on Croatian villa holidays in or around Split.
According to a new report in the Croatian Times, the planned centre will be spread over an area of 45,000 square-metres, with a number of big-name retailers already signed up for units.
These include New Yorker, Limoni and the Danish furniture company Jysk, Vedran Malenica, the investor behind the Park&Shop mall confirmed to the news website.
The Croatian Times report pointed out that the new mall will, once completed, be easily accessible from Croatian villas in the port city of Split.
While Split's economy is now largely centred on tourism, the city is also well-known for its agricultural produce, with wine, olives and fish all recommended to visitors.
In addition, Spilt is also renowned for its high-quality and cheap shoes, which can be picked up in markets surrounding the Palace.
