New play could lure tourists to Croatia
08 March 2010Fans of the arts may decide to head to Croatia on holiday this week after learning that a new theatre is set to premiere its second show.
PlayDrama in Split will promote the new show, Marjane Marjane, on Thursday (March 11th) at 20:00 local time, reports the Croatian Times.
The play tells the story of Croatia's historic coastal city from the 1990s to the present day and is mostly set in a local forest.
Actors Elvis Bosnjak, Marko Petric, Matija Kacan, Duje Grubisic, Elena Orlic, Anica Kovacevic and Stanislav Kovacic are to team up to put on the performance, the newspaper explains.
Croatia's theatre culture and tradition may be one reason for booking a holiday to one of its culture capitals - such as Zagreb, Dubrovnik or Split.
The country recently put on a Theatre Night where admission to more than 70 playhouses nationwide was free for one night only.
