Newcastle Airport "delighted" to offer Croatia flights
17 July 2009The head of airline development at Newcastle International Airport said the facility is "delighted" to offer flights to new destinations, allowing passengers to travel to Croatia and elsewhere.
People planning a villa holiday in Croatia this summer can fly with Jet2 from the airport, noted Chris Sanders, according to Journal Live.
"Despite the economic gloom, an overseas holiday is still highly valued by the north-east public," he said.
Mr Sanders added that holidaymakers may wish to "snap up the chance to soak up some sun in Croatia" during the summer months.
According to the Telegraph, Croatia may appeal to holidaymakers with a range of interests. Hvar on the Dalmatian coast is a top spot for fashion, while wildlife fans may wish to travel inland by car in the hopes of spotting deer, a bear or wolves.
An efficient motorway system allows holidaymakers to travel from Split to Zagreb in three hours and is a good way to explore the interior of the country, the newspaper suggested.
