No BA strike could be relief for people planning Croatian holiday
21 January 2010Tourists planning an Easter Croatian holiday may have been given a boost by the news that British Airways (BA) staff will not strike over the holiday period.
Cabin crew, who recently threatened industrial action over the busy Christmas break, had been speculated to be considering a similar decision for early April.
But BA has confirmed all of its flights will remain operational over the popular holiday time - which could be good news for those relying on the carrier to reach their Croatian villa.
Len McCluskey, Unite's assistant general secretary, said: "I want to make it abundantly clear that if strike action is made necessary by continuing management intransigence, we will not call such action over the Easter holiday period."
BA currently flies from London Gatwick to Dubrovnik.
The lack of a strike could be the second piece of good news for aviation followers hoping to book a Croatian holiday after budget airline easyJet recently revealed it is to open several new routes to the country.
