Overseas property buyers pointed towards Croatia

For those seeking a property investment, Croatia could provide the destination.

At least that is the view of foreign property website Property Abroad, which claims Croatia is the "chic destination of the moment".

People may find that staying in Croatian villas helps them get a feel for the country ahead of any potential investment.

Julie Liddle, emerging markets analyst at the portal, said the most popular tourist areas in Croatia currently see investors reselling properties at their 2004, 2005 and 2006 price levels.

"These are certainly worth a look. What's more, Croatia tapped into the boom earlier than its neighbours, so many of the properties are top of the range modern developments that have recently been completed," she added.

Earlier this month, the Post Office revealed that for British travellers planning a holiday, Croatia appears to be a popular choice.

Its currency, the kuna, is apparently one of its fastest-selling financial products of the year so far.
