Pine 'a fragrance of Croatia trips in December'
25 November 2009Holidaymakers planning Croatia trips this December have been told to expect the aroma of pine in the Losinj region.
Each month, the Losinj tourism organisation publishes its guide to the most likely scents to experience while on a visit there.
For December Croatia trips to Losinj, the fragrances include juniper, pine and agave.
The latter of these may be of particular interest to tequila drinkers, as the spirit is derived from the juice and flowers of the plant.
A further interesting fact given by the tourism body states that agave can take anywhere from ten to 100 years to blossom.
This is due to the climate of the region where it is planted.
Holidaymakers taking Croatia trips in the days ahead may be keen to hear what scents can be expected in November.
Losinj's tourism body previously suggested that the fragrance of olive trees should fill the air throughout the month.
