Plitvice and Dubrovnik highlighted as 'beautiful'
28 September 2009Croatia has been named as a great country to take a holiday in.
Online lifestyle magazine In2Town has claimed that there is a lot to do in the destination and highlighted Plitvice National Park as one place to visit.
Noting that it is one of the "most beautiful" spots in Europe, the magazine suggested that the World Heritage Site is well worth a trip.
It also claimed Dubrovnik is a great attraction.
Plitvice National Park, which is open all year round, features scores of interesting sights, including beautiful waterfalls, placid lakes, a number of rest spots and some of the most striking scenery in all of Europe.
It was granted UNESCO World Heritage Status in 1979 and its location between Zagreb and Zadar, make it an ideal attraction for people travelling around Croatia.
There are a total of 16 lakes at the park, which are interconnected by the waterfalls.
Local wildlife includes deers, boars and a selection of rare birds.
