Property investment to be 'made easier'
10 October 2008Croatia's popularity as a holiday destination has led to the government relaxing laws on property investment for EU citizens.
From February 2009 it will be possible for those outside of the country to invest in property in the same way Croatian nationals do.
Currently EU citizens have to undergo a lengthy process where their application is assessed which can take more than a year.
Andrew Piper, director of Emerging Market Property, a company investing in Croatia, said the process will now be cleaner and quicker.
In an interview with the International Herald Tribune, he said: "There is a great deal of potential for the likes of Croatia because it is undervalued."
Recent news that Jet2.com has introduced new flights from Belfast to Croatia's Dubrovik will also make it easier for people to visit the country.
The airline will provide the flights from May 2nd 2009, starting at £56.99 one way.
