Rally fans set for holidays in Croatia
23 September 2010Fans of motorsport may be racing to book a holiday in Croatia after details of the first Istra Rally emerged.
Due to take place in Pula between October 14th and 16th, event bosses are now welcoming entries from drivers with the relevant experience, reports Rally Buzz.
And while competitors are offered somewhere to stay by organisers, those taking the race in as a supporter will require accommodation in Croatia for the duration of their trip on the Dalmatian coast.
The rally itself will take place on a course approximately 80 km in length, broken into special stages, the online publication notes.
More than €50,000 (£42,521) is up for grabs in prize money, so fans can be sure they are witnessing top-level competitive motorsport.
Travellers to Pula may wish to take in the ancient city of Rovinj as part of their break, which was recently described by Jo Fernandez, writing for the London Evening Standard, as being a slice of Venetian Italy in Croatia.
