Rijeka may be ideal cultural spot for Croatia holiday
28 June 2011People heading on holiday to Croatia this summer who would love to engage in the best cultural activities the country has to offer should perhaps consider Rijeka as a potential destination.
That is because the Croatian National Tourist Board has revealed the town in northern Dalmatia to be home to the Summer at Gradina event.
This features three months of fun at Trsatska Gradina, with a host of activities, exhibitions and performances lined up to entertain visitors.
Having got underway earlier this month, the event runs until September 15th, giving holidaymakers plenty of time to include it in their plans.
Trsatska Gradina is located on the site of a former Roman observation point, which itself is steeped in history.
A number of famous Croatian actors and singers are scheduled to appear and the tourism body claimed it is the perfect spot to escape the sun for an hour or two and enjoy cultural activities.
Alternatively, tourists planning their 2012 holidays can book flights to Croatia with Jet2.com, after the airline made seats to the country for next summer available.
