Rock music fans may enjoy holiday in Dubrovnik this month

Fans of rock music may find themselves first in line when it comes to booking a holiday in Dubrovnik for this month.

That is because the Du Rock Parade is set to take place in the ancient resort on January 29th, at the city's famous Fort Revelin.

Kicking off at 20:00 local time, the parade promises the very best of local musicians performing vibrant tunes on guitars and other instruments.

It is part of Dubrovnik's 2011 Festivity event, which features a host of musical and theatrical performances by talented Croatians.

While in the city, tourists may wish to take the chance to visit some of its most beautiful and historic sites.

For example, the historic walls could provide a fascinating place to take a stroll under the winter sun, while climbing to the top of Mount Srd for a bird's-eye view of Dubrovnik may be another popular choice.

Other events due to take place as part of Festivity 2011 include the reading of seven play scripts.
