Samobor 'is a pretty place to relax on holiday in Croatia'
26 January 2011People enjoying a holiday in Croatia over the coming months may wish to take note of the advice from the country's official travel authority.
The Croatian National Tourism Board states Samobor is a town that "delights" visitors and may be well worth a visit.
It suggests the pastel coloured houses that line the main square are a particular treat to be enjoyed in the medieval settlement.
Another joy is sure to come when tourists tuck into what has become the item Samobor is now renowned for – custard tarts.
"Why not extend your visit to include this charming bolthole and enjoy its famous February carnival?" the tourism body asks.
Located just half an hour from Zagreb, reaching Samobor could arguably be a simple task.
Alternatively, jet-setters could travel to Dubrovnik in order to join in the fun of the ancient city's carnival, which is also due to take place next month.
