Sculptor's work could be enjoyed by tourists in Croatia
18 November 2009Tourists with a passion for art and sculpture may be interested in booking a holiday in Croatia so that they can visit an exhibition featuring work by the legendary late sculptor Dusan Dzamonja which has just opened in Split.
Sculptures by Dzamonja will go on display at the Old City Hall in the historic city as part of the Split Biennial festival, reports the Croatian Times.
Other events making up the fourth annual Split Biennial will run at various locations across Split until it ends on December 15th, reports the Croatian Times.
The Dzamonja display features 37 drawings and graphics by the renowned artist who passed away in January.
His work is thought not to have been made public in Split for more than half a century, although he has produced at least ten exhibitions in other Croatian locations during that time, according to his official website.
Last week two separate photography exhibitions were held in Zagreb, which coupled with the news of Dzamonja's work going public, could further enhance Croatia's reputation as an arts hub.
