See top tennis stars on holiday in Croatia

Tennis fans have 11 days to secure a Croatian villa or other accommodation in Istria before the country's premier tennis tournament begins.

The Croatia Open kicks off on July 26th close to the town of Umag, in the north-west of Croatia.

People hoping to enjoy some of the sport's top stars, such as world number five Nikolay Davydenko, in action could book tickets, transport and somewhere to stay now.

Also due to attend the event are home favourites Ivan Ljubicic and Ivo Karlovic, as well as Argentinian player Juan Ignacio Chela.

Davydenko comes into the tournament as the reigning champion, having won under the Croatian sun last summer.

Attending the top tennis tournament could be only one part of a summer break on the Dalmatian coast though, with a plethora of unspoilt beaches and picturesque towns lining the shore nearby.

Some of the players in action are likely to use the competition as a warm-up for the next major, the US Open, which takes place at the end of August.
