Senj Carnival 'is another reason to visit Croatia during February'
03 February 2010People planning a Croatian holiday during February may be interested in Senj Carnival, which runs until the 16th of the month.
The winter carnival is already underway, with particular highlights being the adult ball on Saturdays and the children's equivalent on Sundays.
As is tradition in Senj, a straw doll will be burned on Shrove Tuesday to signal the end of all bad things that have happened in the last year.
Senj is located roughly 40 miles from the historic city of Rijeka, which is also holding its annual carnival currently.
Rijeka Carnival features a grand parade which makes its way through the city's largest streets on the final day, which this year is February 17th.
Travelling to Croatia and combining the two events could form the perfect romantic getaway over the Valentine's weekend for many couples.
Dubrovnik, which is to be found further down the Adriatic coast, was recently said to be the second most romantic city in Europe, according to the Guardian.
