Ski group meets in Dubrovnik accommodation
21 May 2009The International Ski Federation, or Federation Internationale de Ski (FIS), has chosen Dubrovnik accommodation to host its annual conference.
Over 500 delegates from the skiing world will be attending the meetings of the FIS Technical Committees in the southern Croatian city.
In a statement released today, the organisation said that "warm and sunny weather is joining" the committee members.
Officials from the FIS are gathering in Cavtat, which is just 15km south of the historic walled city of Dubrovnik, at the centre of the Konavle municipality.
In words of encouragement to FIS members attending the event, the group announced: "Do not forget your ski suit - as sunny and summery weather up to 28 degrees C is in store for the delegates (although pack your sunglasses and sun cream too!)."
A number of big events are being hosted by Croatia in the coming weeks, including an important World Cup qualifying match between the home nation and Ukraine.
