Snowboarding tournament hits Rijeka Carnival
30 January 2009The eagerly-awaited snowboarding tournament at Rijeka's Carnival is now just one day away, with locals and tourists alike preparing to hit the slopes.
It is anticipated that revellers will arrive in their droves for tomorrow's (January 31st) event which is just the latest attraction in what has so far been a riveting festival programme for the Adriatic resort town.
According to the carnival's website, those in attendance should prepare for the thrill of a lifetime.
"Competitors from all parts of Europe will leave the audience breathless with their displays but will also need to impress the professional jury and earn their place on the podium," it said.
Visitors are advised to arrive early to the session - which begins at 16:00 in front of the stairs at Rijeka's Grand Hotel Bonavia - to avoid disappointment.
Other upcoming events at the Rijeka Carnival include the hotly-anticipated masked football tournament, a children's ball and the bell ringers' exhibition.
