"Soul-inspiring architecture" awaits people on Dubrovnik holidays
10 March 2010A Dubrovnik holiday could prove the perfect getaway for travellers to Croatia, after one writer has said there is "not much to dislike" about the city.
Writing for the Telegraph, Johnny Morris said the town showcases "soul-inspiring architecture" which has views out to the Adriatic Sea.
Taking a Dubrovnik holiday will see people experience a variety of palaces, piazzas, monasteries, fountains and cafes, all housed within car-free streets.
"As a model metropolis, the old town offers a gift parcel of European history, culture and cappuccinos that even the most jaded weekend visitor will find easy to unwrap," the writer stated.
Ancient walls which stretch one-and-a-quarter miles surround the buildings, many of which are made from the local limestone and therefore 'harmonise' together.
People taking a Dubrovnik holiday this year may choose to go on a cruise.
The Croatian Times recently reported that Vlaho Djurkovic, Dubrovnik Port Authority's director, believes there will be a 4.2 per cent increase in the number of individuals arriving at the city via a cruise liner.
