Split and Dubrovnik 'highlights of Croatia holidays'
01 June 2011There are so many eye-catching landscapes and attractions in Croatia that it may be difficult to know where to start a holiday in the country.
As such, heading to the premier resorts of Split and Dubrovnik – themselves home to some wonderful architecture and iconic sights – could be a wise move.
It is also an option that appears to meet with the approval of TNT magazine, which recently suggested the cities are two of the highlights of the nation.
The publication noted Split is a historic epicentre, famous for Diocletian's Palace around which it is built.
Visitors can still walk through the palace and experience the cafes, shops and bars that are located within it today.
Dubrovnik's Old Town area is another must-see when on holiday in Croatia, with its landmark walls and "postcard-perfect" harbour.
Jutarnji List, cited by the Croatian Times, recently suggested that more people are set to travel to Dubrovnik for vacations, with a ten per cent rise in tourist numbers expected this summer.
