Split to host major modern art exhibition
03 September 2009Travellers enjoying a Croatian villa holiday during the month of September will be able to enjoy an exhibition showcasing the work of one of the world's leading modern artists.
Forming part of this year's Split Film Festival, the Dom Mladezi cultural centre in the heart of the historic city, will play host to an exhibition of the work by the video artist Nam Jun Paik.
The South Korean, who died in 2006, is considered by many to be the founding father of the genre, with his back catalogue including a number of video installations, sculptures and performances.
And while the Film Festival will draw to a close on September 21st, visitors enjoying a Croatian holiday in the region will be able to enjoy the Nam Jun Paik exhibition until the end of the month.
As well as these temporary exhibitions, the city of Split is also home to two major archeological museums, with one dedicated to the age of antiquity and the other to the early medieval period.
