Stradun 'is the highlight of a holiday in Dubrovnik'
20 January 2011Holidays in Dubrovnik should revolve around a visit to the city's main street, Stradun, in the opinion of one blog.
An article on the Places of Interest portal explains the avenue is the "major attraction" for tourists and provides a wonderful centrepiece to the resort.
It notes the stone buildings on either side of a cobbled street were only partially under the sea, illustrating the changing history of the area.
People who visit tend to sit and drink coffee and watch the Croatian rituals that take place in the street, before strolling around the nearby museums and exhibitions.
The blog goes on to recommend the historic city walls as another must-see attraction, as the view from the top is "magnificent" and makes the walk around the perimeter more than worthwhile.
People planning a holiday in Dubrovnik may wish to coincide their trip with the city's annual carnival, which gets underway next month.
