Summer Salsa Festival gets underway in Rovinj
22 June 2009Those taking a holiday in Istria this week will arrive just in time for the annual Croatian Summer Salsa Festival.
Running from today until the end of the week, the event in Rovinj is sure to entertain people on a Croatia travel trip and locals alike.
Evening classes will be taking place at various venues throughout the town, while there will also be a number of guest performances from some of the main movers and shakers in the salsa world.
The motto of the week-long festival, according to the Croatian National Tourist Board, is "Sea, Sun & Salsa".
Earlier this month, famous writer and biographer of The Beatles Hunter Davies visited the Istrian town on behalf of the Daily Mail.
He reported back positively and was left with the question in his mind: "How can I never have heard about this architectural and historical gem?"
