Take a family holiday in Croatia 'to see Little Vienna'
03 February 2011Booking a family holiday in Croatia could prove to be a particularly cultural experience for all, especially if travellers head to Zagreb.
Ivor Vuchelic - an American who has lived in the region for the last decade - told the Charlotte Observer people should definitely visit the city, which is known as Little Vienna thanks to its architectural attractions.
"It almost has the same type of districts and urban plans," he explained, adding that the legacy of the Austro-Hungarian Empire is also very much in evidence.
From there, Mr Vuchelic advised jet-setters to make their way to Plitvice, a national park boasting waterfalls and 16 lakes, which he described as astonishing because the colours constantly change depending on the angle of the sun and the organisms in the water.
According to the Croatian Times, It could soon be easier to travel from the US to Croatia, with news source Jutarnji List noting that American aviation experts have revaluated air traffic safety in the nation.
