Three-day festival set to entertain travellers to Dubrovnik
15 September 2010People on the lookout for a burst of late-summer sun may be well advised to travel to Dubrovnik and celebrate World Tourism Day.
The ancient city in the south of Croatia is holding a three-day event to mark the occasion, including fine food, wine and music.
Kicking off on September 25th, the festival opens with a traditional Mussel Festival, with tourists given the chance to taste the oysters for which Dubrovnik is renowned.
Following this there will be a vocal performance by local musicians and later an acting out of the play Dubrovnik Littoral Wedding.
A host of arts and crafts will be on sale and a closer look at the heritage of the historic city is on the agenda for the next day.
It was recently reported by Agence France-Presse that more people have been travelling to Dubrovnik, with 8.2 million people arriving in the resort between January and August this year.
