Time running out to book accommodation in Dubrovnik for oyster festival
18 March 2011Tourists have little more than two weeks to book accommodation in Dubrovnik should they wish to attend the resort's delicious oyster festival.
Due to take place on April 2nd, the event may be eagerly anticipated by thousands of locals and visitors alike.
It offers the chance to taste one of Croatia's most famous delicacies at the time of year when it is at its most flavoursome.
Oysters are traditionally served on St Joseph's Day (March 19th) when they are at their fullest and tastiest.
The front of St Blaise's Church will host the festival, where those on holiday in Croatia can tuck into oysters that have been freshly caught from the crystal-clear waters of the Adriatic Sea.
Some experts suggest the best way to enjoy the seafood is with lemon juice, although a range of other condiments will be available.
Dubrovnik can be reached from the UK via flights with airlines such as British Airways, Croatia Airlines and easyJet.
