Tourists advised to visit Zagreb
26 May 2009Holidaymakers from the UK have been encouraged to consider taking a break in the Croatian city of Zagreb.
According to the Croatian Tourist Board, the city offers a number of year-round attractions, including world-class museums and shops.
In addition, the location was praised for offering some top-quality accommodation, including international brand hotels.
"Zagreb is an elegant city that doesn't attract crowds of young revellers," it commented.
The organisation added that the region is easily accessible from the UK, as operators such as Croatia Airlines and Wizz Air fly directly from London and Luton for 12 months of the year.
Visitors were also advised that they would be able to enjoy a wide range of meals in Croatia, as the types of food it offers are "as diverse as the country's regions".
This comes after the Post Office revealed that the Croatian kuna has been one of its best-selling currencies of the year to date.
