Tourists assured of great food on Dubrovnik holidays

A holiday in Dubrovnik may be one of the best options in the world for those who love their food and drink to be of a high standard when on a vacation.

That is because the Dubrovnik Gastronomic Quality project was introduced in the Croatian city and has had an impact on the fare being served up in the city.

Its aim is to create a significant value surrounding the standard of cuisine and to enhance it at every opportunity.

The Dubrovnik Tourist Board suggested this has led to a "stimulating" set of dishes that are widely available in the resort.

Local food is said to be without overwhelming spices and based on beautiful Dalmatian ingredients, such as courgettes, cabbage and herbs, all of which is grown in the fertile ground in the region.

Anthony Nicholas, writing for the Scotsman, recently named Dubrovnik as one of his highlights of a Mediterranean cruise.
