Tourists encouraged to island-hop in Croatia
22 June 2009An island hopping holiday in Croatia has been described as better than a tour of the Greek islands.
The Observer reports that the geography of Croatia's sunny offshore retreats makes it easier for people to move from island to island.
Three separate areas can be explored, the publication said, with each region offering different attractions for those who have opted for a Croatia travel experience.
Northerly Kvarner islands can be taken in by tourists if they start off at Rijeka - the airport and port on Krk. From here, they can hop to Rab and Pag.
Alternatively, the islands of Hvar, Brac and Vis can be reached if travellers set off from Split, which is located on mainland Dalmatia.
The third option for people keen to get as much out of their Croatia vacation as possible is to use their Dubrovnik accommodation as a starting base before exploring Sipan, Mjet and Korcula.
Korcula was recently described by the same newspaper as an ideal wedding destination.
