Travel to Croatia for movie-based walk
02 March 2011Fans of the film Brave Chief Winnetou may be among the keenest to book a holiday in Croatia for next month after learning of a special event based on the production that is due to take place.
The Croatian National Tourist Board confirms Following the Trail of Winnetou will be held between April 16th and 24th.
It will feature numerous tours of the Paklenica National Park, where much of the movie was shot some 40 years ago.
Packed with natural beauty and iconic views, the park was chosen for the film adaptation of Karl May's book as it offered the appropriate scenery.
People who travel to Croatia for the walking event will be offered the chance to walk around the area to take in some of its most famous spots, as well as opportunities to go horse riding or try archery.
Paklenica National Park is located on the Dalmatian Coast just a few miles north of Zadar.
