'Travel to Croatia to save money'
29 September 2008Travellers looking to save money on their break away should consider destinations like Croatia which are outside the Eurozone.
People planning their summer break next year are already stating they do not plan to miss out on the annual getaway despite the credit crunch, the Daily Telegraph reports.
Liz David, a mother from Norwich, told the newspaper: "Yes, the economic situation is worrying, but Id rather forgo day-to-day luxuries such as meals out or new clothes than miss out on a proper break."
The publication states one way to reduce the cost of a holiday is to travel to where the pound is strongest, stating destinations like Croatia will offer "better value" next year.
Other tips offered include staying at the location longer as accommodation costs will be reduced while airline costs will increase, meaning one longer holiday may be cheaper than two shorter ones.
Booking online is also advised as the newspaper states "there are deals to be had" which are often not available elsewhere.
Croatia has recently been described by the NewsStar.com as having "some of the most stunning shorelines in the world" with it being a beach-lovers paradise.
