Travel to Dubrovnik for special orange festival
10 January 2011Those with an interest in humanitarian issues may like to travel to Dubrovnik next month for a special event.
The Sour Orange Day is held to promote the part oranges from the region can play in everyday life – from culinary to medical purposes.
Organisers say the fruit has an important place in the heart of the city and its people enjoy coming together to celebrate it.
Attendees will meet in front of the Sponza palace on February 2nd, where various orange products are available – such as jam, cakes and liquers.
Visitors are even invited to enjoy a taste of Ston oysters with a sour orange and glass of locally-produced wine.
It is also an opportunity to recognise the medicinal purposes sour oranges have, as they have been used to preserve human wellbeing since ancient times.
Other events coming up in Dubrovnik over the next few weeks include the Night of the Museums festival in late January.
Croatian Villas offering villas, apartments and waterside properties from the people who really know Croatia.
