Travel to Montenegro for Kotor
09 February 2011Jet-setters eager to soak up a country's culture and history might want to book the best accommodation Montenegro has on offer in order to pay medieval port Kotor a visit.
Hello magazine has described the township as an ideal holiday destination that is ripe for exploration, thanks to its labyrinth of cobbled streets, old buildings, squares, sculptures, ancient friezes and medieval tiles, saying "it's like a scene from a fairytale".
Nestled in the southernmost fjord in Europe, Kotor is home to a number of architectural treats just waiting to be discovered, such as the 13th-century Church of St Luke and the 12th-century Cathedral of Saint Tryphon.
Boat trips can also be taken from the Baroque town of Perast, while there are number of beaches including Sutomore, Ulcinj and Budva, although booking Croatia car hire may be necessary to access some of these.
